Terms of service
Last updated 17 October 2026
These terms apply when you use FamJam at getfamjam.com or in the FamJam apps. FamJam is run by Junaid Ahmed (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or signing in, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use FamJam.
1. What FamJam does
Families post photos and stories in a private space. Each month we lay out the posts as a newspaper, print it and post it to the recipients the family chooses. We may change or improve features over time.
2. Your account
- You must be 18 or older to make an account.
- Give accurate details and keep access to your email or sign-in provider secure.
- You are responsible for what happens under your account.
3. Families and roles
The person who creates a family is its owner. Owners and admins can invite and remove members, manage recipients, review each issue and send it to print. Anyone with a family’s invite link can ask to join it, so share links only with people you trust.
4. Your content
- You keep ownership of the photos, text and other content you post.
- You give us a licence to store, process, show to your family, lay out, print and post that content, only to run FamJam for you and your family. The licence ends when the content is deleted, except for newspapers already printed or posted.
- Only post content you have the right to share. Get permission before posting photos of other adults, and take care with photos of children.
- Posts you shared in a family stay with that family if you leave or delete your account (details). Delete any you don’t want kept before you go.
5. Acceptable use
Don’t use FamJam to post or send anything that:
- is illegal, sexually explicit, violent, hateful or harassing;
- sexualises or endangers children;
- infringes someone else’s copyright, privacy or other rights;
- is spam, malware or an attempt to break, overload or get around FamJam’s security.
You can report a post or comment in the app, and admins can remove members. We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms. We won’t print content that breaks them.
6. Printing and delivery
- Each issue locks at the monthly cut-off. After that, admins review it and it is printed. Check names, addresses and content before printing starts; we can’t change a newspaper once it is printed.
- Photos may print with lower quality than they look on screen, especially small or compressed ones. The app warns you when it can tell.
- We post newspapers through postal and courier services. Delivery times are estimates, and we aren’t responsible for delays or losses caused by those services or by a wrong address. If a newspaper doesn’t arrive, email us and we will try to help.
7. Plans and payment
FamJam is free during the beta. When paid plans start, we will show the price before you subscribe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and you can cancel at any time; the plan then runs until the end of the period you paid for. Your legal rights as a consumer, including any right to cancel, are not affected.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app under My profile. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms, and will tell you why unless the law stops us.
9. Our responsibility to you
We provide FamJam with reasonable care and skill, but can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. Keep your own copies of photos that matter to you. We are not liable for losses that were not foreseeable or that arise from your use of FamJam for business purposes. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
10. Privacy
Our privacy policy explains how we handle personal data, including recipients’ addresses.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For important changes we will tell you in the app or by email before they apply. If you keep using FamJam after that, the new terms apply.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country and can bring a claim in your local courts.
